There have been gardens at Knebworth House since the 17th century, but the present layout was largely created by two of Britain’s most renowned garden designers; Sir Edwin Lutyens and Gertrude Jekyll. Popular features include the maze, walled vegetable garden, formal rose garden and colourful borders.
The Park’s superb adventure playground is perfect for children to let off steam. Have fun on the astro and drop slides, play on the swings, slides and walkways of Fort Knebworth, whizz down the zip wire, bounce on the dino bouncy castle and try the interactive splash water play features. There is plenty of space for games and picnics, with large covered picnic shelters.
Follow the trail through the Wilderness Garden and discover the 72 life-sized prehistoric creatures in the shrubbery! Listen to the wind-up sound boxes and draw like a cave-man on our chalkboard.
