The diversification into tourism; holiday cottages and glamping, began in 2008 and has gone from strength to strength.
It’s a family affair running the dual businesses with Robert overseeing both and his partner Emma dealing with the growing team of staff and marketing with the cottages and glamping side of the business. Iain, Robs brother, oversees the finances and sister Jess deals with the farms administration.
As the business has grown to two cottages, twenty pods and cabins, a touring paddock and in 2019 a small camping area, so has the team. We now have two helpful and friendly bookings staff, two maintenance staff and six housekeeping staff.
The team takes great pride in creating a unique break for guests, so that they go home happy, want to return in the future and of course tell their friends.
Our accommodation includes; The Cart Lodge, sleeps 12 guests and Stable Cottage, which sleeps between 2-7 guests and also has a private log fired hot tub.
Spread between two areas on the farm, we have three MegaPods, three Armadillas and two CargoPods all with log fired hot tubs close to the cottages.
At the farms second newer site there are 12 fabulous Lushna cabins. Each has either floor to ceiling glass doors or windows, private log fired hot tubs and great views over the countryside to the sea.
Every glamping cabin or Pod has its own loo and shower and small kitchen area inside, along with heating for the colder months. Outside each has a fire pit, BBQ and private log fired hot tub, perfect for star gazing at the end of the day.
Pods and cabins sleep two adults only, or two adults and two children.
The two sites can be booked in their entirety for a large group.
Away from the site, Fishing can be arranged for guests. The farms two fishing lakes are off site a short drive away, perfect for keen anglers.
We love to promote the local area to our guests and hope they go exploring during their stay.
Curve Wake Park is just a 10 minute walk from the farm and offers Wake boarding, Paddle boarding, kayaking and an Aqua Park.
At the end of Lee Wick Lane (where the sites are based), is a wonderfully wild nature reserve and beach with views over to Mersea Island.
Colchester is our nearest large town with a fabulous castle, zoo, art galleries, shops and restaurants. Head into our neighbouring county of Suffolk, a 20-minute drive away, with the delights of pretty villages and the river Stour, hire a rowboat or bring your own canoes.
Of course, you could just stay at the farm and relax.
We are open 365 days of the year and look forward to welcoming you.
