Thorpefest is back on the Suffolk Coast

2nd May 2017

By popular demand, Thorpefest is back on the Suffolk Coast for the second year. The Live music festival features local artists such as Nate James, Bessie Turner, Meg Hughes and Aldeburgh band Fick as Fieves. This summer’s outdoor music festival will be on Saturday 8th July at the Thorpeness Country Club, near Aldeburgh on Suffolk’s Heritage Coast. Artists will be performing live from 12noon until 10pm (gates open from 11am). As well as local singer song writers, Thorpefest welcomes tribute acts such as Rhapsody, a Queen Tribute band and Tony Lewis impersonating Robbie Williams. A fantastic collection of covers spanning a range of musical genres will be performed by J.S & the Lockerbillies, Austin Beats, Ed Zachary & The Phil Jackson Rock ‘n’ Roll band, all of whom are guaranteed to get at least your foot tapping. The day of music will be complimented by a great selection of food and drink providing fuel for everyone to get up and dance and enjoy themselves throughout the afternoon and evening. The grand finale to the day of entertainment will be an evening firework display.

The festival is family friendly with a dedicated area to children’s entertainment, making it a great day out for everyone. Peter Osborne, Operations Director at organisers TA Hotel Collection said; “I think it is fantastic that due to the great response Thorpefest received last year it is back again on the Suffolk Coast in 2017. A festival achieves a lot by bringing people together, supporting local talent and promoting a beautiful location, in a way that entertains the whole family.” The official broadcaster at this year’s event will be BBC Radio Suffolk who will be on stage presenting throughout the event. Thorpefest is kindly sponsored by the TA Hotel Collection, Suffolk Secrets, Lynx Purchasing and Adnams; Thorpefest aims to be a great family day out that will be supporting local charity EACH.
