If you are anything like me, as soon as autumn/winter hits, you will love nothing better than getting all wrapped up, going for a nice long walk through the countryside and then finding a cosy pub for a good meal and a warming glass of mulled wine. The only trouble that some of us find is that a lot of pubs don’t let us bring in our wonderful dogs. So, here you will find some of the best pubs to go to this winter with your four-legged friends:
Dog friendly pubs in Norfolk
The Fisherman’s Return, Winterton On Sea
The Ln, Winterton-on-Sea, Great Yarmouth NR29 4BN
A pub in a perfect setting. You can walk along one of the best beaches in Norfolk, in my humble opinion, and then straight off the beach, through the quaint village of Winterton to The Fisherman’s Return. Well-behaved dogs are welcome and when you visit, you will almost always find a dog lounging in front of the log fire. Mulled wine and cider is always on the menu in the winter, perfect for that post beach walk. www.fishermansreturn.com
The Whalebone, Norwich
The Whalebone, 144 Magdalen Rd, Norwich NR3 4BA
You couldn’t get much more dog friendly than The Whalebone. Every month they announce their ‘Dog of the month’ on the website along with a photo of them. Plus, there is a treat jar behind the bar for the pooches. www.whalebonefreehouse.co.uk
