Children’s Half Term Fun Day with Science Boffins!
The Science Boffins are heading to Beccles Public Hall on Friday 17 February to entertain children of primary school age upwards. The Boffins will take the children on a fascinating interactive journey. Understanding that everything around us in the world is made of atoms – things that we touch and see.
There are three fun sessions in total from, 10am – 12 Noon, 1pm – 3pm and 4pm – 6pm. Each fun science session will last for one hour which will be followed by an-hour long disco and refreshments all included in the cost of £5 for adults and children.
February Half Term Opening at Bressingham Steam & Gardens
Taking place from 11 to 19 February, explore the Dads Army Halls, which features a recreation of Walmington on Sea, the fictional home to Captain Mainwaring and his men, and enjoy the operating One Railway and Gallopers. Little Lives at Lynn Museum, Norfolk
Step back in time and give your children a glimpse at your childhood with ‘ Little Lives: Snapshots of Childhood 1800 to the Present Day’ at Lynn Museum. This exhibition touches on the stories of childhood over the last two centuries. Childhood objects from the museum collections together with photographs and paintings offer snapshots of the changing experience of childhood. Bug Week at Dinosaur Adventure
From 11 to 19 February it’s all things creepy crawly at Dinosaur Adventure, Norfolk. The popular ‘Bug Week’ is back with lots of animal handling and hands-on activities, including a prehistoric bug hunt and creepy crawly crafts. www.dinosauradventure.co.uk/events.php
Teddy Express at Bure Valley Railway

Story Quest at the Palace Theatre
This three-day story adventure at the Palace Theatre from 13-15 February will bring books to life and encourage the participants to think about using them creative and imaginative ways, to inspire new work.
Suitable for ages 7-11, the project will begin with an introduction to a story on the first morning, followed by a series of exercises to build an idea on which the group’s own new work will rest. The form of the end product is entirely left to the group and may be a performance, a storytelling of fact or fiction, an installation, writings or some other form of work. £85 for all three days; £76.50 for siblings (10% sibling discount). www.southendtheatres.org.uk
Spy School at Audley End House
During half term week, 13-17 February, Audley End House and Gardens is calling all super sleuths, secret agents and intrepid investigators! It’s a chance to sharpen your detective skills with hands-on training in cracking codes and solving clues. Adults £18.30, Children 5-15 years £11.
Knights and Princesses at Framlingham Castle
Polish your armour and dust off your tiara, it’s time to learn the tools of the trade as you become a knight or princess for the day. This half term Framlingham Castle’s courtly experts will be teaching skills in heroic chivalry and eloquent etiquette. Adult £8.40, Children 5-15 years £5.
Half-Term Holiday Children’s French Workshop
This half term Alliance Francais de Cambridge are giving children the opportunity to try something new with its special children’s workshops suitable for ages 5-10 years. Interactive French workshops will include games, crafts, French pancakes and much more! £60 for three days.
