Get out and about this spring with a trip to one of Norfolk’s stately homes, gardens or parks.

Fairhaven Woodland and Water Garden

School Road, South Walsham, NR13 6DZ

If you fancy some fresh and a gentle stroll, visit Fairhaven. The Garden is an eclectic mix of native and cultivated plantings with a network of dykesystems and a private broad. There are four miles of woodland pathways and boat trips, which are great for spotting local wildlife. www.fairhavengarden.co.uk

Bressingham Steam & Gardens

A museum of steam, featuring narrow gauge, traction engines and a Victorian steam roundabout. View the gardens and the renowned Dads Army exhibition. Open from end of March to October. www.bressingham.co.uk

Blickling Estate

Blickling, Norwich, NR11 6NF

The breath-taking red-brick mansion and ancient yew hedges sit at the heart of a magnificentgarden and historic park in the beautiful Bure meadows. Explore the walled garden, admire historic buildings and stroll around the lake. During spring the space comes alive with daffodils and seasonal flora. Don’t miss bluebell season at the end of April and throughout May. www.nationaltrust.org.uk

Pensthorpe Natural Park

Fakenham Road, Fakenham, NR21 0LN

Pensthorpe Natural Park is an award-winning mix of meandering nature trails, beguiling woodland walks, and a showcase for British wildlife and nature conservation. There’s both an indoor and outdoor play area so children can still have fun whatever the weather! www.pensthorpe.com

Feel like royalty and walk the grounds of the Sandringham Estate. It is the ideal place for a day out with lots to see and do. It is open from April to October. www.sandringhamestate.co.uk
