Live Music in Bedford, 3-5 August

This month don’t miss Billy Ocean as he takes to the stage in Bedford Park on 3 August supported by Jaki Graham, Aswad, Loose Ends ft Carl McIntosh and The Christians. Superstar Jess Glynne will entertain crowds on 4 August followed by Bedford Park Proms on 5 August. This year’s soloist will be none other than English soprano Lesley Garrett. Big Summer Weekend at Rushmere Country Park, 11-12 August

Rushmere Country Park’s annual Big Summer Weekend of fundraising events takes place this year 11-12 August. Concert in the Park with music from local talent takes place on the Saturday, tickets priced £12. Macaroon Masterclass at Evie and Lola’s Kitchen Table, Bedford, 11 August 

Following the success of their pop-up shop ‘Evie and Lola … Handmade at Christmas’, owner Anwyn Rowberry has launched ‘Evie and Lola’s Kitchen Table’; a new concept and space for small independent businesses in Bedford town centre. It will be a permanent venue for the crafty workshops and parties, for both children and adults. In addition, other creative business owners will also use the space to host a range of workshops, from jewellery making to crochet, arm knitting to screen printing. Art in Clay, at Hatfield House, 17-19 August 

Art in Clay will bring together a more than 200 ceramic artists when it opens its doors at showcasing the finest ceramics currently being created by individual makers in the UK and Europe alongside new talent.

This highlight of the ceramic art calendar, now in its 24th year, will see world-class artwork displayed by leading names such as Jim Malone, Eddie Curtis, Nicola Theakston, Jin Eui Kim, Brendan Hesmondhalgh, James Oughtibridge, Peter Beard and Tony Laverick.

‘Capturing Moment’ at Picturecraft Gallery, Holt, 17 – 22 August

Artist John Patchett, will be showing a major exhibition at The Picturecraft Gallery in Holt from 17 – 22 August. Titled ‘Capturing Moment’, it features 85 new paintings ranging from the bustle of Norwich market, busy Norwich and Cambridge streets, al fresco diners both local and abroad, evocative sunsets, the beauty of the Broads, glorious gardens and marine subjects, many of which have been painted whilst on location.
