7 Fun Summer Carnivals

Watch town’s come alive with colour as we head into carnival season.

 

Wells Carnival, 26 July – 3 August

Town Centre, Wells-next-the-Sea, Norfolk

A week of family fun and events including a Carnival Day procession around the town featuring floats, fancy-dress, pull-and push-along vehicles and much more. Traditional seaside activities include a sand-castle competition, town crier competition, gillying on the quay and the crowning of the carnival royals. Felixstowe Carnival, 26-28 July

Maldon Carnival, 3 August – CANCELLED (sadly due to lack of volunteers)

High Street, Maldon, Essex

Expect to see carnival queens, colourful floats, majorettes and marching bands proceed along the High Street. www.maldoncarnival.uk

Sheringham Carnival, 3-11 August

Town Centre, Sheringham, Norfolk

With a packed programme featuring fun for all the family, Sheringham Carnival promises to be an event to remember. www.sheringhamcarnival.com

Cromer Festival, 17-23 August

Town Centre, Cromer, Norfolk

The carnival celebrates its 50th anniversary with a week of colorful events. The parade takes place on 21st full of floats, fancy dress and fun. Don’t miss the illuminated procession on 22nd from Meadow Road. www.cromercarnival.co.uk

Aldeburgh Carnival, 17-19 August

Aldeburgh Town Centre, Suffolk

A fun and colourful seaside event, which was crowned ‘Norfolk & Suffolk Tourism Family Event of the Year’ in 2018. www.aldeburghcarnival.com

SpectaculArts Carnival, 7 September

Bedford Park, Bedfordshire

Bedford is known for its wonderfully diverse population and the SpectaculArts Carnival will bring the town’s communities together for a town-wide carnival celebration. The parade throughout the town centre will be a moving show, featuring actors, musicians, storytellers, audience participation, street performers and spoken word, culminating in a festival in Bedford Park.
