Tackle the Town Trail


This historic town has been dubbed a lovely place to wander and the town trail should be at the top of your list. Follow the metal plaques to discover Framlingham’s secret past and uncover hidden nooks and crannies. If you’re visiting on a Tuesday or Saturday stop by the market to sample local delicacies. End with a stroll around the Mere to soak up some countryside views.

The Great Framlingham Sausage Festival, 8 Oct 2017 from 10am to 4pm.

Celebrate the great British banger with a sausage trail to seek out the best sausage makers. Work your way around sampling some meaty delights before voting for the best. Take a pit stop at sausage making class, visit the beer festival at The Railway or the cider festival at The Station.

Family Fun at Framlingham Castle

Discover Framlingham’s troubled past at the12th century castle. Walk along the wall, explore the museum and stop by one of the events held here this October.

Gothic Falconry, Sat 21 and Sun 22 October, 11am-4pm

Watch majestic birds of prey in flight and listen to spooky, superstitious tales from the yesteryear from expert falconers.

Spooky Stories, Monday 23 – Sunday 29 October, 11am – 4pm

Discover the gruesome truth behind some of the most popular bedtime fairytales, all in spooktacular fancy dress. Wear your most ghoulish outfit – the scariest wins!
