Boutique Hotel on North Norfolk Coast

Boutique hotel, The Harper, has opened on the North Norfolk Coast.

Visitors to Norfolk will have even more choice of accommodation on the North Norfolk coast from April 2020. The Harper, a stylish boutique hotel in Langham, near Blakeney, will open its doors this spring.

Set in a former glass blowing factory in the pretty village of Langham, The Harper has embraced its history with bespoke glass features and natural materials in its artfully mismatched yet harmonious design.

No two bedrooms are the same and, equally, discarded from the plans are the cosy (in other words, small) rooms you find elsewhere – with room categories coming in at Big, Bigger and Biggest.

The food celebrates the hotel’s location where land meets sea. Think local produce but cosmopolitan menus, with a distinctive Norfolk twist. Seafood is a particular speciality. The Harper has a ‘dine anywhere’ environment but there is also Stanley’s, more of a classic restaurant space, named after founder Sam Cutmore-Scott’s grandfather – whose middle name was Harper.

Next door to Stanley’s, guests will find Ivy’s, the quintessential living area. Set amongst the wood-burner and comfy sofas is a series of arm chairs, nooks and, best of all, wine fridges for those looking to kick back with a glass or two of Bordeaux.

Other areas include The Den, full of rainy day board games. On sunny days, The Yard is the place to be, with plenty of space to sit and sip G&Ts as the sun goes down. And with food coming out of The Shack – the outside kitchen – there is no need to go anywhere else. However, not one to rest on its laurels, the hotel also has a wonderful indoor pool, hot tub, sauna and steam room, plus two chic treatment rooms.

There’s the usual walks, following the footpaths and coastal paths, but if this this all sounds too strenuous there is always The Harper’s very own pub crawl – being ferried from one pub to the next in the hotel’s Land Rover, with a designated driver provided of course. There will be the usual pints, pies and ploughmans, as well as Norfolk’s famed local ales and delicious coastal delicacies, such as steamed mussels and crab and chips. All of this before being driven home to The Harper for a refresh.

The Harper caters for residents only, so it will never feel overcrowded and the service will be all the more personalised. The perfect Norfolk hotel is if you’re looking for a stylish and relaxing getaway.

Rooms will start at £175 per night (incl. Harper Breakfast – some additional items priced accordingly).
