‘If music be the food of love’ then the Theatre Royal is providing a bountiful feast this Valentine’s weekend
Following from the success of love-story Blink in January, the Theatre Royal Bury St Edmunds is continuing to romance its audience with three enchanting events this Valentine’s Day weekend.
On Valentine’s Day, the 14 February, the theatre is transforming into an exotic fiesta as Tangomotion sees four world class tango dancers take to the stage performing to music from the critically acclaimed tango quartet Tango Siempre. With dancers who have previously appeared in the West End show Midnight Tango and the ever popular BBC Strictly Come Dancing, Tangomotion is a passionate journey into the heart of Argentina, providing a romantic getaway for every couple.
Saturday the 15 of February sees Bury St Edmunds Concert Band return to the stage with Saturday Night at the Movies after their sell out performance of Last night of the Proms last September. Including music from blockbusters such as Star Wars, Superman, Jurassic Park and Beauty and the Beast, this entertaining evening is the perfect date night for movie lovers. Money raised from this fundraising event will help to support the BSE Concert Band and the Theatre Royal’s community and education programme.
For those who love to be wined and dined, Dinner and Divas on the 16 February offers the ultimate experience in theatrical dining. Starting with a sparkling champagne and canapé reception this delicious four course dinner will be served on exquisite tables onstage; guests will be able to enjoy some of the best loved arias accompanied by a powerful chamber ensemble. There is also the wonderful opportunity to book your own personal aria to serenade someone special. For one lucky couple, the theatre is also offering the chance to book the “lovers’ box” – an intimate table for two in the stage box, equipped with wine, a bottle of champagne and their own personal aria – the perfect way to celebrate this romantic holiday. Money raised from this fundraising event will help to support Co-Opera Co and the Theatre Royal’s community and education programme. This event is kindly sponsored by Ashton KCJ Solicitors.
