There’s no need to go anywhere else this Christmas thanks to the wide variety of seasonal events being held in Ampthill, Bedfordshire, this year.
Christmas light switch on
Christmas starts early in Ampthill with the Christmas light switch on scheduled for the 20 November. Head on down to Market Square at 4.30pm to watch the event, enjoy a funfair, stalls and attractions as well as seeing the big man himself, Father Christmas.

On the same day, Carrie’s Handmade & Vintage Fair (www.ampthilltowncouncil.org.uk/events/carries-handmade-vintage-fair) will be setting up in The Stables Venue, The White Hart from 11am – 5.30pm. Head on down to enjoy a selection of local, handmade Christmas gifts, treats and vintage goodies. One not to miss!
Christmas Tree Festival
The annual Ampthill Christmas Tree festival (www.ampthilltrees.com ) will be returning this year for the third time. The event will take place on Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 December. There will be music from local artists, stalls and plenty of entertainment for the whole family to enjoy.
Christmas Movies
For anyone looking for a trip back to the 90s for their Christmas celebrations, then the classic Christmas movie, Home Alone, will be shown at the Zonita Cinema at Parkside Hall on 3 December at 2pm. Tickets are only £3 for children and £5 for adults on the door.
