easyJet has today (Friday 1 July 2016) announced it will operate a new route to Las Palmas, Gran Canaria from London Southend Airport.
Placed on sale today, it will operate twice a week throughout next winter with first flights commencing on 6 November 2016.
easyJet is expected to fly 12,000 passengers a year to and from Gran Canaria, which is ideally placed for those wanting to take advantage of Gran Canaria’s winter sun and escape to warmer climes over the Christmas and New Year period.
Neil Slaven, UK Commercial Manager at easyJet, said: “We’re delighted to be adding Gran Canaria to easyJet’s range of destinations from Southend in a move which provides our passengers with an additional winter holiday destination from the airport, further strengthening our already comprehensive European flight network.

London Southend is becoming a popular airport of choice for travellers and has train link to East London hub of Stratford in 45 minutes.
