Start making plans for dining at Christmas in Norfolk.
I’ve been super impressed by how during this pandemic food businesses have managed to carry on regardless, offering treats, fine dining hampers, afternoon tea, booze boxes and more. I’m super proud of Norfolk producers and caterers in keeping us all fed while staying afloat.
So impressed in fact, that my fellow Norfolk food bloggers and I will be organising some sort of ‘Norfolk Street Food Awards’ to celebrate all the amazing food vendors that have knocked and delivered food all over Norfolk during lockdown.
I’ve been part of The Clear Company for a few years now. They’ve managed to organise a travelling street food fair offering tasty trailer food in certain towns and villages across Norfolk. We’ve had the appearance of crumpet producers, Kombucha bottles, bao bun kits and cocktail shaking kits – inventiveness with food has certainly kept me going.
So, here’s to celebrating and visiting all the amazing restaurants, cafes and pubs that so need our custom and make Christmas the tastiest and booziest ever – we can always diet in January! We have so much fine produce on our doorsteps and so many amazing suppliers delivering the goods. Plus, you can’t avoid Norwich Market. You’ll find half of the 200 stalls as food suppliers offering everything from empanadas to Binham Blue. And if all fails, there is a stall selling rather large knickers!
Cheers to that climb to the food fest that is Christmas. Don’t forget to book your Christmas parties early and support local as much as you can.
