Fresh Festival is aimed at 16 – 30 yr olds and offers the chance to discover new ideas for future employment; it creates opportunities for individuals to consider self- employment and enables people to make, what can sometimes be life changing connections.

In 2012, 500 people walked through the doors, over 50 businesses, 10 schools and colleges and numerous musicians were involved in the event.  What a delight it was to discover that a new business Food! By Lizzi started as a direct result of attending Fresh Festival and taking part in the Human Library session.

“Having successfully catered a friend's wedding I looked around for more information about self employment and stumbled across the Business Festival in Bury St Edmunds. A lot of the events felt a little corporate and daunting but the Fresh Festival stuck out as something a bit different and less scary. I snuck in two days before my 30th birthday. I ended up in the Human Library and the lady I spoke to was so enthusiastic about my idea that she decided I must speak to The Prince's Trust who were also at the event. I felt as though they literally picked me up by the elbows and set me down in front of The Prince's Trust……I am so very glad that I stumbled across the Fresh Festival and that curiosity got the better of me, it started me on an incredible journey.” Lizzi Flaherty, owner of Food!
