Fun Family Easter Egg Hunts and Events

Easter is rolling round once more, and there are some great events planned. From egg-citing egg hunts to new-born animals, we’ve put all our favourite eggs in one basket to help you make the most of the Easter holidays.

Easter Egg Hunt at Wimpole Estate, 29 March – 11 April, 9.30am-3pm

Arrington, Royston SG8 0BW

Discover the beautiful parkland with a family-friendly Easter trail complete with a chocolate reward. Build a home for nature then hop along the trail using fun clues and activities. Pick up the Easter trail for just £3 at Hardwicke Gate. Tickets will be released from Friday 26 March. Booking is essential.

Easter at Blickling Estate, 2-19 April, from 10am to 5pm

Blickling, Norwich NR11 6NF

This spring, treat your little ones to a world of adventures at Blickling Estate on the Easter adventures in nature trails. Make your way along the trail, finding nature-inspired activities for the whole family and explore the beautiful gardens of Blickling Estate. The price of the trail is £3 per child and includes a trail map, pencil and a chocolate egg at the end.

Easter at Audley End Miniature Railway, 2-18 April

Audley End Road, Audley End, Saffron Walden CB11 4JF

Ride deep into the enchanted Audley End woods to visit the Easter bunny in his woodland home. Along the route through the magical woods you can use your I Spy sheet to spot little bunnies, heavily laden nests with colourful eggs and maybe even spot some spring chicks. Next stop is the Easter Trail where families can wander through pathways to spot springtime animals, nests and eggs. Book tickets here.

Easter Trail at Anglesey Abbey, Daily, 2 – 18 April, 9.30am – 5pm (last entry 3.30pm)

Quy Road, Lode CB25 9EY

An Easter adventure to help families enjoy the great outdoors and nature. Follow the trail with 10 fun nature-inspired activities along the way to earn an Easter egg at the end. Children can learn about the local wildlife across the gardens and at the Hoe Fen Wildlife Discovery Area too. Pre-booking is essential for Easter adventures in nature trails so be sure to book early to secure your chosen day and time slot. Oxburgh Hall, 5-18 April, 9.30am – 4.30pm

Oxburgh, King’s Lynn PE33 9PS

Let young imaginations run wild with a special trail with nature inspired activities. Children can track the bats listen to the bees and be a hedge detective for a fun Easter half term experience at Oxburgh Hall. The price of the trail is £3 per child and includes a trail map, pencil and a chocolate egg at the end.

Easter Holiday Prize Trail at Brandon Country Park, 9-24 April

Copper Beech Café, Brandon Country Park, Suffolk

Pick up a puzzle sheet from the café and follow the trail, finding words along the way. Each completed puzzle will receive a prize when returned to the visitor centre. At just £1, this a cheap and fun Easter activity for all ages. Find out more. 

Adventure Camp at Down Hall, Easter Half Term

Down Hall, Hatfield Heath

Sharky & George, one the UK’s leading children’s event planners, returns to Down Hall Hotel for a school holiday fun and games. In the professional hands of the Sharky & George team, young adventurers will shape the order of the day, with child-led activities ranging from den-building, French cricket and t-shirt tie-dying to lip sync battles, chocolate truffle making and DIY volcano crafting. Places are priced at £35 per child and must be pre-booked as a part of any overnight stay. Book here.

Hertford Castles Children’s Art Trail, 9 April – 7 May

Hertford Castle, Hertfordshire

Part of the Hertford Arts Festival, this year’s event includes a chance for young creatives to get involved too. Children will be encouraged to forage the castle grounds and create masterpieces with nature. Paintings, drawings and photographs can also be entered into a competition with a chance to be exhibited at the next Castle Open Day.

Easter at Ickworth, 9 – 24 April, 9.30am – 3pm

Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk IP29 5QE

Explore the wildlife, colours and smells across the Ickworth estate. Pick up your trail pack on arrival (£3) and head out on a trail with your family, finishing with a reward of a yummy chocolate egg (or allergen free equivalent). At the start of your Easter adventures in nature trail, pick up your activity pack to find the bespoke trail you’re going to follow. Find out more. 

 

Ashridge Estate, Daily, 11 – 18 April, 10am – 4pm

Moneybury Hill, Ringshall, Berkhamsted HP4 1LX

A fun-filled nature day out for the whole family to enjoy this Easter. There are 10 trail points for you to find around Ashridge Estate, each with a different activity. Learn about the area and what makes it so special during spring. Hand over your completed activity sheet to the visitor centre to collect a delicious Rainforest Alliance chocolate egg. Book here. 

Dunstable Downs, 11 – 18  April

Whipsnade, Dunstable LU6 2GY

There are 10 trail points for you to find around Dunstable Downs, each with a different fun activity. You will discover what’s so special about this area in spring, and earn a delicious Rainforest Alliance chocolate egg. Collect your activity sheet from the visitor centre before heading out on your adventure. Book here. 

Easter Trail at Knebworth House, 15 – 18 April

Old Knebworth Lane, Stevenage SG1 2AX

Follow the clues and explore the beautiful Knebworth Gardens this Easter. Children can use their treasure hunting skills to follow the trail and gather the Easter clues to solve the world jumble. Between 12pm and 3pm, craft activities will be available. Trail sheets are available on arrival for £1 and are free to Season Ticket Holders. Entry tickets will include access to Knebworth Park, Gardens, Adventure Playground with Fort Knebworth and Dinosaur Trail.

Bourne Mill, 15 – 18 April, 11am – 3.30pm

Bourne Road, Colchester C02 8RT

Make your way along the trail and find nature-inspired activities for the whole family whilst exploring the beautiful grounds of Bourne Mill. The price of the trail is £3 per child and includes a trail map, pencil and a chocolate egg at the end. Bourne Mill is set in tranquil surroundings, next to a millpond and babbling stream. The mill still has a working waterwheel and the grounds give plenty of scope for family fun.

Easter Egg Hunt at Burwell Museum, 17-18 April

Burwell Museum & Windmill, Mill Close, Burwell

A fun and affordable Easter activity. Hop along for an Easter egg hunt for just £1. Find out more.

Easter Bunny Fly-In and Egg Hunt, 17-18 April

Shuttleworth, Old Warden Park, Biggleswade SG18 9DT

Hop along to the runaway and look up to the sky at around 11am to watch the Easter Bunny fly in and make an entrance. Once on the ground, children can follow the bunny into The Swiss Garden and collect Easter eggs. It’s then to the Discovery Hub to collect an Easter egg from the Easter Bunny. Find out more.
