Gaming technology enables ‘next-level’ in virtual home viewings during lockdown

A new housebuilder on the block is offering its customers the chance to have like-for-like viewings thanks to virtual desktop videos and a 360-degree CGI experience of their architect-designed homes; something that has become essential as all companies look to offer remote services again due to the global pandemic.

By using an immersive viewing experience which leverages the latest in gaming and cloud computing technologies, alongside traditional CGI and film, customers can have a like-for-like experience from the comfort and safety of their own sofa.

The 360-degree CGI experience is available for ‘Town House’ which has configurable interiors, meaning buyers can take the tour and design their own interior layout and finish before the homes being built in the factory and arriving on-site at the new community in Northstowe, Cambridgeshire.

Virtual viewings have been used by the company, House by Urban Splash, for more than a year, and they have successfully helped customers to purchase homes off-plan and without having to be on a construction site.

The company has since been able to harness the latest technology to evolve the service and create this immersive virtual viewing experience of new homes, now also available in Cambridgeshire.

Evangelina Hogan Sales Manager for House by Urban Splash in Cambridgeshire commented: “This is important even more now than ever so that customers that want to move or need to move can continue with their plans to do so, and the housing market can also keep moving.”

“These latest additions enable us to demonstrate our homes without having to be on a construction site, something we are used to, but that is also necessary at the moment.”

How it works:

  • Potential buyers have access to a desktop video of the ‘Town House’ show home where they are talked through the virtual tour by a person over Skype or Zoom and given a chance to ask any questions as they move through the house, making the experience as live and interactive as possible.
  • The virtual tour takes people through the home, room-by-room, and floor-by-floor, giving a sense of material quality, daylight quality, space flow, ceiling height, and takes in views from windows and balconies.
  • The virtual video forms part of a comprehensive interactive desktop experience, including renders, floor plans, configuration options, and availability.

House by Urban Splash Town House homes at Inholm Northstowe are on sale now, with the first modular homes arriving early this year. Visit housebyurbansplash.co.uk for details.
