Wild Bedtime Stories with Vital Spark, Friday 1 June: 5pm to 6.30pm
This event is especially for the little ones to come and enjoy some bedtime stories in a beautiful outdoor setting. Wear your pyjamas, dressing gowns, onesies (and probably wellies!); bring your favourite teddy if you wish. Arrive from 5pm to explore the area and settle down at 6pm to enjoy the stories. Vital Spark Theatre is a Cambridgeshire-based company specialising in working with young people in a creative way through drama, dance, music and creative arts.
NB: Booking essential. Children must be accompanied. Held in the Stable Rooms, Wandlebury Country Park. £6 per child, includes hot chocolate (if you could bring a reusable cup to help cut down on waste that would be wonderful).

Theatre at the Leper Chapel: Tales of Mystery and Imagination, Saturday 2 June: 8pm
The ‘uncanny boundary between life and death’ is explored in this evening of suspenseful tales from the greatest of the gothic writers, Edgar Allan Poe, including ‘The Premature Burial’ – one of the most extraordinary short stories ever written, and ‘Thou Art the Man’. Recited by Richard Spaul of the in situ: experimental theatre group in the mysterious setting of the 12th century Leper Chapel, and interspersed with haunting songs from the English folk and American blues traditions, this one is sure to give you goose bumps even on a June evening!

Hinxton Watermill Open Day, Sunday 3 June: 2.30pm to 5.30pm
Drop in and explore this impressive 17th century working watermill, built on a site dating back to the Domesday Book. Hinxton Mill, owned by CambridgePPF and run by volunteer guides, is located in charming surroundings in the village of Hinxton on the River Cam. On six Sundays during the summer the mill is opened and guides will show you how the mill works and tell you the history of this incredible building. There are also walks along the river. Children can take part in the ‘Where’s Ratty’ competition and have the chance to win a prize!
NB: CambridgePPF members can visit for free. For non-members entry is £3 for adults, £1 for children. No need to book.

Woodland Crafts: Printmaking – Wandlebury Adventurers’ Club (8-12 years), Monday 4 June: 6pm to 8pm
Have a blast designing and creating your very own prints with natural woodland materials! The action-packed Wandlebury Adventurers’ Club takes place on five consecutive Monday evenings each term and you can sign up for a term (£60) or for an individual session (£14). Sessions will be, to a certain extent, child-led and once established, the children will play a large part in choosing and creating activities.
NB: For ages 8-12. Places limited so please book in advance. Parents are not required to attend the sessions with their children. All activities are run by two of experienced Field Teachers who are DBS checked and first-aid qualified. Activities may be changed or adapted if the weather is not suitable. Children will need to be prepared for the weather – suitable footwear for running in wet and muddy conditions and waterproof clothing (just in case!). Based in the Stable Rooms at Wandlebury.

Healthy Walking, Every Thursday: 10am or 10.30am to 11am
Keep fit and greet the changing of the season by joining our healthy walkers every Thursday this June for one of the Walking for Health accredited sociable walks around the park. Meet at the Stable Rooms at 10am for a longer walk or 10.30am for a shorter stroll. Walks end around 11am with tea and coffee in the Stable Rooms. All welcome, suitable for all abilities.
NB: Free of charge and no need to book, please arrive 10 minutes early to register if it’s your first session. Donations towards the upkeep of the park are always welcome.

Constructions and Building – Wandlebury Adventurers’ Club (8-12 years), Monday 11 June: 6pm to 8pm
Join the Wandlebury Adventurers and have fun making buildings and structures from natural materials. The action-packed Wandlebury Adventurers’ Club takes place on five consecutive Monday evenings each term and you can sign up for a term (£60) or for an individual session (£14). Sessions will be, to a certain extent, child-led and once established, the children will play a large part in choosing and creating activities.

Have fun with the Wandlebury Adventurers as you orienteer your way around the park, with map-reading team games and a special treasure hunt. 10th Anniversary Walk at Coton Countryside Reserve, Wednesday 20 June: 6.30pm to 8pm
A guided evening walk around the reserve to enjoy the wildlife and views. On 20 June 2008, CambridgePPF officially opened the Coton Countryside Reserve, and on this walk will be taking a look back to see how all the hard work has contributed to the establishment of the reserve, as well as learning about all our future plans.
NB: Meet in the reserve car park. This is a free event but please book ahead so we can manage participant numbers. Donations are always appreciated.

Garden of Eden Heritage Walk, Saturday 23 June: 11am to 1pm and 2pm to 4pm
National Civic Day is a celebration of pride in communities and conservation. To commemorate the occasion, CambridgePPF will be hosting two guided heritage walks in Cambridge, starting at Christ’s Pieces at the Princess Diana Rose Arbour and ending at the Clarendon Arms pub. You will be guided through this residential area by a local historian who will enlighten you on the evolution, history, and architecture along the way.
NB: This is a free event but booking is essential to manage participant numbers. Donations are appreciated.
Directions: Christ’s Pieces are in the centre of the city, bordered by the bus station, Christ’s College, Emmanuel Road and King Street.
Bourn Windmill Open Day and Teas, Sunday 24 June: 2pm to 4pm
Come and see inside one of the oldest mills in the country, set in beautiful scenery near Bourn village. A perfect location for a picnic. On five Sundays during the summer the mill is opened and guides will show you how the mill works and tell you the history of this incredible building. Not only can you see inside, you can also have a go at the task of turning the whole mill on its post – an amazing sight. The mill is owned by local charity CambridgePPF and run by dedicated volunteers. Teas and cakes will be available for purchase.

Bows & Arrows! – Wandlebury Adventurers’ Club (8-12 years), Monday 25 June: 6pm to 8pm
This fun-filled session sees the Wandlebury Adventurers making their own bows and arrows from sticks, then testing out their creations while trying to hit the target.
