Modello Bar & Kitchen on St Peters Street, Bedford, opened its doors last month after an investment of Â£1million, providing Bedford with a new premium bar and dining experience set in stylish surroundings.
The opening of the Mediterranean influenced bar was celebrated with a number of local businesses invited to see the changes that have been made to the former nightclub New York New York.Â Guests were treated to samples of the menu including pizza from the wood fired stone-baked oven along with tapas and sharing platters.

Inspired by the relaxed, laid back nature of the Mediterranean way of life, Modello will be open from 9am daily offering Illy coffee and warm croissants.Â The key focus of Modello’s offer will be its open kitchen complete with a wood fired stone-baked oven imparting a rustic feel to dishes including al forno pasta and stone-baked pizzas starting from Â£6.95.
The after work crowd and those looking to catch up with friends and family can either enjoy a cocktail or two at the bar or have a bite to eat from a range of dishes from sharing platters to main meals with fresh, mouth watering flavours such as Chicken and Chorizo Tagliatelle or our Sharing Plate which includes mini pizzas, nachos, chicken skewers, a whole baked Camembert, chips, salad and dips – absolutely perfect for sharing!
The team from Atmosphere Bars & Clubs, the company that own and operate Modello Bar & Kitchen, worked with Bedford born and bred architect, Dominic Taylor from Burlington Construction to bring the site to life.
Snug areas have been created in the bar including an area paying tribute to the Bedford Rowing Club and the river that provides a scenic backdrop in the town.Â A number of comfortable yet stylish leather booths, perfect for parties, celebrations and get-togethers have also been introduced.
At the back of Modello is an awe inspiring outdoor space with wooden decking, planters, the introduction of jumbrellas and outdoor heating, making it a perfect oasis, even in the winter months.
