Located opposite Norwich Cathedral in the Cathedral Quarter the hotel has undergone a massive refurbishment programme in 2015 which will run into 2016. This year they have seen completed; lounges, toilets, ensuite bathrooms next year their investment will continue with a new reception area and refurbishments of their suites.
The biggest news is that guests at the Maids Head Hotel now have the latest iRiS guest services paper free app in their bedrooms. The iPad based system, a first for a hotel in Norfolk, gives guests the opportunity to reserve a table in the restaurant and order their meal, order drinks at the bar, book taxis, check airport departure boards, browse the internet, get the latest information on events and culture in Norwich and days out in Norfolk and much more. The app will also soon include the environmental control switch for bedrooms in the older part of the hotel, when the new heat pump based heating and cooling system is commissioned.

Herbert Woods was the man who invented the template for the broads light cruiser. In 2016 it is the 90th Anniversary of Herbert Woods – the oldest broads cruiser company in continuous operation. They have a fleet of approximately 130 boats.
This Easter, Herbert Woods will launch 10 new picnic boats, titled ‘Starlight 24’. Perfect for a day out, the fleet is set to revolutionise the day hire market with its on board facilities, it has enough space for up to ten people.
The 24ft picnic boat comprises the home-from-home luxuries you would expect from a modern holiday cruiser, including a gas hob, sink, fridge, hot and cold water, hot air heating and a toilet.
