Review: Matilda the Musical, Norwich Theatre Royal

Warning: This feature is now out of date

When Norwich Theatre Royal announced sixteen months ago that Matilda the Musical would be becoming to the city, I could barely contain my excitement. I was a huge fan of the film as a child, and I’ve wanted to see the show for many years. To have it on home turf was a delight!

The global smash-hit show from the Royal Shakespeare Company finally arrived in Norwich on 16 July and will grace the stage at Norwich Theatre Royal until 17 August – the perfect school holiday day out!

It’s always interesting to see how a film will be adapted to the stage, and Matilda the Musical is entertaining from start to finish. The set is colourful, the cast exceptionally talented and the choreography mesmerising. The production is full of catchy songs and one liners that will have you laughing out loud.

Guaranteed to delight audiences young and old, this is one show you don’t want to miss!
