Secret Norfolk: a feast at Norwich Market

Secret Norfolk by Nicole Ranaweera

Make sure you take a break from the Christmas shopping to enjoy a feast at Norwich Market this December!

There’s been a recent food revolution on the Market, upping the foodie game with new feast stalls appearing all the time. And, with a selection of cuisines that range from European to Asian it really is no surprise that Norwich Market has recently won the EDP Best Independent Food & Drink Award and was named one of Culture Trip’s 10 best markets in England. Finding foodie treats from most corners of the globe is quite frankly the best way to explore the hidden treasures of the market, and I promise you won’t be disappointed!

Look out for:

Bia’s Kitchen, Stall 54-55

These guys will revolutionise your thinking when it comes to Vegan food! Delicious vegan street food that is soooo tasty!  Their pulled jack bap is a personal favourite!

Churros & Chorizo, Stall 20

This Spanish street food and deli stall will really help bring the sunshine to your shopping trip. Perfect for grabbing a bite on the run or for picking up hard-to-find Spanish items from their fabulous deli.

Cocina Mia, Stall 152-153

If Chilean Street food intrigues you then this is the place to go! From empanada to steak sandwiches and Chilean salads this feast stall is taking Norwich by storm.

Sicily Market, Stall 34

Everyone loves pizza, and Sicily do not disappoint with their authentic wood fired treats! Of course pizza is not all you can get here – why not try one of their delicious arancinis too?

Fig Bar, Stall 50

Serving some of the best cakes in all of Norwich, The Fig Bar has a beautiful selection of various treats that are perfect for an afternoon pick me up or as a gift for a friend. It all looks and tastes amazingly decadent and indulgent so you’ll definitely be back for more!

Jakey the Bakey, Stall 32-33

From Nigella Lawson approved madeleines to Poutine, this stall serves beautifully crafted French cuisine. The baked goods really are superb!

Bun Box, Stall 23

From steamed bao buns to sticky sweet buns, the Bun Box, run by a local chef who swapped a London Michelin-starred restaurant for Norwich market, has recently joined this foodie hub with a unique take on Asian street food.

Indian Feast, Stall 23

Indian cuisine is a staple in our household, and so this street food stall is a personal favourite of mine, offering some fantastic vegetarian & vegan options. Top tip – definitely try the coriander chutney!
