Let’s talk food! As Norfolk celebrates fine food, fine chefs and fine dining this autumn, I felt this month’s column just had to be about one of my favourite subjects!

Norfolk is rapidly becoming a mecca for foodies. But, whilst turkeys, turnips and seafood have always been Norfolk’s main contenders, when it came to seasonal produce and fine dining, we’ve not always been able to boast food and drink credentials with the big boys.

Nowadays though we’re catching up fast, and Norfolk has a whole host of local produce from meat and game to beer, cheese and fruit that attracts many a foodie to this eastern jewel of a county. Walk down any street in Norwich or visit pubs and restaurants along the North Norfolk coast and you’ll be sure to find menus that play homage to the fine seasonal produce that can be found in this small corner of the world.
