Secret Norfolk: Life in a Fine County
Summer is finally here and there is no better place to spend it than in Norfolk. So, grab your hats and sunscreen and come have some summer fun in our fine county…
For the nature lovers
If nature is your thing, then Norfolk ticks this box several times over! The coastline speaks for itself, but Norfolk’s RSPB reserves are also a must visit if you’re a photographer or bird watcher. A trip to Pensthorpe Natural Park or Fritton Lake Outdoor Centre is great for all the family, young or old. And, let’s not forget the Broads; either hire a boat or, for the more adventurous types, enjoy a spot of wild swimming along the River Bure!
For the sightseers
Norfolk loves a good sightseeing tour! View the North Norfolk coast by steam on the North Norfolk Railway (www.nnrailway.co.uk) or by boat with well-known tour operators Temples, Searles, Bishops or Beans (to name a few). Alternatively, head inland with Pub and Paddle to explore the River Wensum by canoe, stopping off at riverside pubs along the way! (www.pubandpaddle.com)
For the kids
From dinosaurs to Twiggles to high ropes; Norfolk’s attractions can easily keep the kids entertained all summer! But, don’t forget to enjoy a low cost day out too – explore the coastline and Broads or, head indoors to one of the super family-friendly museums. Or, pop along to one of Norwich City Council’s free outdoor theatre events!
