Secret Norfolk: The best farm shops in Norfolk

It’s no secret that Norfolk has an abundance of top quality local produce, yet Norfolk’s outstanding farm shops are perhaps less well-known. From fresh fruit and veg to cheese and chutneys, if you’re planning a trip to Norfolk this summer then why not pop in to one of these farm shops en route…

Wiveton Hall Farm Shop

Wiveton Hall, Holt 

As well as being home to the eccentric Desmond MacCarthy (the 2016 star of BBC2’s Normal for Norfolk), Wiveton Hall’s shop sells all sorts of delectable delights including homemade jams, marmalades and chutneys.  As well as choosing from pick-your-own or the seasonal produce on the shelves, the shop also sells kitchen-ware (with an exclusive Emma Bridgewater range of pottery inspired by the raspberries for which Wiveton is renowned), prints, toys, books, stationery, crafts and art.

White House Farm

Sprowston, Norwich 

Situated just outside Norwich, White House Farm has seen a lot of improvements over the recent years. You can pick your own fruit and veg or simply buy off the shelf in the farm shop! Complete with a butcher counter, locally-made condiments, jams, chutneys & alcohol, marvellous café and a range of new local boutique shops. Plus, if you live locally you may be interested in their regular events and children’s craft and forest school activities.

Letheringsett 

Find a vast range of organic and artisan food, including Angus-sired beef, lamb, chicken, geese and turkey which have been organically raised on their farm. At the deli you will find many of the best British artisan cheeses, organic salami and a choice of food from the kitchen. As well as a shop, you’ll also find a cafe/restaurant on site. Thornham 

Situated just a short walk from the sea along the Norfolk coast, this farm shop is packed full of home-grown seasonal produce, local meats, cheeses, breads, wines and local beers, plants and much more. With a fishmonger, lifestyle shopping, plant nursery, award-winning restaurants and glamping also on site you really won’t want to leave! More info here.

Taverham

Stocking local produce, most of which is grown in Aylsham, Frettenham or Felthorpe, the Norfolk Farm shop offers a selection of Norfolk ales, locally produced cheeses, meats, honey, chutneys, bread, cakes and biscuits. As well as regular groceries, the company also prepare gift wrapped baskets to order.

Stocking fresh seasonal vegetables, plus with a Butchery, Fishmonger & Deli on site, Farm to Fork & Fish prides itself on stocking top quality local produce. Situated close to the Norfolk Broads you can also pick up a hamper for your hols!

Bintree 

The well-known home of Algy’s Norfolk Popcorn, they also sell locally grown produce from fruit to pumpkins, squashes and bird seed!

Groveland Farm Shop

Roughton 

Located in a traditional Norfolk flint barn just three miles from Cromer, this is a large complex which offers much more than just fresh produce! From a restaurant to delicatessen, butchery, garden centre, boutique shops and more! Find out more.

Walsingham Farms Shop

Little Walsingham 

With a fantastic butchery that sells meat from local farms, a great range of fruit, vegetables and other grocery items and an open kitchen where you can see pies, pates and stews to cakes and desserts being made! More information.

Knight’s Hill Farm Shop

South Wootton, King’s Lynn

Stocked full of excellent quality fruit and vegetables, a vast range of delicious meats, pastry, cheeses and a selection of bread, rolls and cakes all baked daily. Plan your visit.
