Famed for its signature cocktails and tasty food, the bar will be taking over an existing bar and grill concept in St Johns Street, in the centre of town and opening to the public from 23 September.
The new location will be the tenth to open in The Snug Bars group, which began in Cambridge 10 years ago and has spread across the home counties, in the South of England. The new location will create 18 new jobs for locals, as well as retaining the six members of staff working in the current location.
Prior to opening, a full internal makeover of the location has taken place with new seating areas and a raised seating area in the main restaurant which will also double up as a stage for live music. A nod to the local history, one wall of the bar will also feature three sugar Silos.
Bury St Edmunds will also be the only Snug location to feature a separate gin bar upstairs, which will see them distilling their own gin and serving specially prepared cocktails to customers.
As with all Snug venues, the drinks menu will feature cocktail combinations, as well as premium beer offerings not yet seen in Bury St Edmunds. The food menu includes a favourites on breakfast, lunch and dinner with a range of dishes. With platters designed to share, 2 for 1 cocktail offers every day and the chance to book into cocktail classes, there’s something for everyone at the new Snug.
The Snug also has establishments in Cambridge, Hertford, High Wycombe, Hitchin, St Albans, Ware, Bedford (Drinks only) and Aylesbury.
