Applaud Coffee

19 St Peter’s St, Ipswich IP1 1XF | Tel: 01473 808142

It’s a family affair at Applaud Coffee. The stylish café is run by sisters and is set among the independent retailer scene of Ipswich. Tuck into fresh scones and cakes which are made on-site, porridge with fruits, toasties and smoothies. If you’re in the mood for something more substantial share one of the artisan boards stacked with cured meats, olives and bread. There’s a cute little courtyard for sunny days too.

Honey + Harvey

56 Thoroughfare, Woodbridge IP12 1AL | Tel: 01394 547216

Get ready for a feast at this brunch café in Woodbridge. Sourdough, eggs, bacon, halloumi, sweet potato hash and more – there’s something to suit all! In addition, there’s four smashed avocado options, fruit, cereal, bagels and baps. Ingredients are sourced locally, and brunch can be washed down with artisan coffee. Gluten-free and allergies can be catered for. There’s also a second location in Melton. It’s dog-friendly too! www.honeyandharvey.co.uk/woodbridge

Urban Jungle

London Road, Beccles NR34 8TT | Tel: 01502 219110

Reminiscent of London’s famous Petersham Nurseries, the Instagrammable Urban Jungle is a café and plant nursery, and the perfect location for brunch in Suffolk. The food is just as vibrant as the interiors and you can dine among the Mediterranean garden. There’s an all-day breakfast (veggie option available) and a choice of Belgian waffles. Don’t leave without trying a pudding and checking out the Cactus House!

Suffolk Food Hall

Wherstead, Ipswich, IP9 2AB | Tel: 01473 786 616

Popular with locals and visitors, Suffolk Food Hall has a reputation for excellent local produce. Meat-lovers will love the steak and eggs, farmer’s fry up and sizzler.

Pump Street Bakery

1 Pump St, Orford, Woodbridge IP12 2LZ | Tel: 01394 459829

One of the most well-known bakeries in Suffolk, this pink-walled bakery is famous for its chocolate so don’t leave without purchasing a bar to take home. Takeaway bread, delicious cakes and perfect pastries from the bakery or eat in. Breakfast is served all day and features sourdough toast, eggs, granola and a bacon bun.

Orford is a small picturesque Suffolk town and it’s well worth spending a few hours here; climb to the top of the castle, take a walk along the river and tuck into its famous oysters at lunch! www.pumpstreetchocolate.com

Jimmy’s Farm
