For a fun, festive day out visit the barn. Full of colour, décor and the scents of Christmas, it’s a one stop shop for all your Christmas needs. The Country Christmas Shop is open every day until 22 December. There are decorations galore with amazing themes of all shapes, sizes and colours, not forgetting the gorgeous handmade items in both traditional and contemporary styles.

Late night shopping takes place 22 & 29 November, and 6, 13 & 20 December. With the arrival of the Christmas British Crafts events each weekend up to 16 December, visitors can meander through the barn and enjoy hand-crafted goods from a variety of artists and skilled crafts makers. For those wanting the best quality tree as their main attraction this Christmas, the 23 November sees the start of the famous Rougham Estate Christmas trees sales. There’s wreath workshops too!

This event will offer shoppers a wonderful choice of beautifully designed and handcrafted gifts for Christmas. Makers will be showcasing the latest in contemporary and vintage inspired handmade items.

Bury St Edmunds Christmas Fayre, 21-24 November

Firmly established as one of the best and biggest Christmas markets in the region, the fayre will once again be showcasing a huge selection of arts, crafts and gifts, as well as a large selection of food and drink. With over 300 stalls set out along the town’s medieval streets and gardens, you’ll find plenty of gifts and certainly won’t go home hungry! The Abbey Gardens provides a magical festive atmosphere with over 100 stalls, free children’s entertainment, real reindeer and Santa and his elves in their winter workshop.

Stowmarket Christmas Market, 22 November

The busiest market of the year, popular with local traders and residents. Browse and buy gifts, decorations and festive food. The event coincides with the Christmas light switch on.

Sudbury Christmas Market and Light Switch on, 29 November, 5pm-9pm

Enjoy an evening of festive fun including craft and food stalls, Santa’s Grotto, fun fair rides, live music and an ice rink. The lights will be officially switched on at 6.30pm.

Clare Christmas Fair, 29-30 November, 10am-7pm

Peter and St Paul’s Church and Old School Community Centre, Clare

With over 60 exhibitors selling festive food, drinks and a great selection of gifts this is the Christmas event in Clare not to be missed! The Christmas lights will be switched on Saturday evening as a grand finale!

Felixstowe Christmas Market & Light Switch on, 30 November, 10am-6pm

Christmas arrives in this Suffolk town with a day of festive fun. In the lead up to the light switch on at 5pm, there will be a Xmas market along Hamilton Road to the Triangle Canopy. Santa’s Grotto, carol singing and live entertainment takes place throughout the afternoon. A children’s candlelight parade (starting at 4.30pm) leads up to the Christmas lights switch on.

This fair is packed with stalls full of gift ideas from local craftsmen and independent stores. To keep you going while searching for the perfect present, there are plenty of food stalls and cafes so you can shop until you drop!

The Market Square is transformed into a winter wonderland with a funfair, big wheel and over 50 stalls. Traders will be dressed up in Dickensian theme to add the this nostalgia. Join in the fun as there is a prize for the best costume! Carol singers will get you in the festive mood, the smell of hog roast and mulled wine will fill the air and village shops will be hosting Christmas offers and attractions. Don’t miss the guided lantern tour taking place on Saturday 7th and folklore tales at The Swan Hotel, complete with mulled wine and mince pies!
