From music, arts and outdoor events, there’s not shortage of festivals in Norfolk this summer. 

Here are some that should be on your list to visit: 

Norfolk & Norwich Open Studios

Norfolk & Norwich Open Studios, 25 May – 9 June

Multiple venuesacross Norwich & Norfolk

This year the event celebrates its 25thanniversary. Hundreds of artists will be throwing open their studio doors to the public as part of the event, which is firmly established as one of the biggest open studios schemes in the country. Throughout the duration of the scheme many of the artists will be holding additional events, demonstrations and workshops. www.nnopenstudios.org.uk

Great Yarmouth Arts Festival, 6-16 June

The hugely successful Great Yarmouth Arts Festival returns in 2019 for the 6th year with cultural activities, shows and events in a range of locations around the town for everyone to enjoy. www.greatyarmouthartsfestival.co.uk

Wymondham Music Festival, Norfolk, 21-29 June

The Festival returns with a packed programme of open air events, recitals and concerts. A mix of free and paid for performances, there will be music of all genres, plus the popular annual Town Busking Day, Teddy Bear’s Picnic and tea dance. www.wymfest.org.uk

The Prosecco and Gin Festival, 22 June

OPEN Norwich

The festival comes to Norwich for the first time serving up over 60 gins and a great selection of sparkling wines and prosecco. It’s the perfect summer event to enjoy with friends! www.proseccoandginfestival.co.uk/norwich

Great Yarmouth Wheels Festival, 6-7 July

North Norfolk Railway Beer Festival, 19-21 July

Sheringham Station

This annual Beer Festival gets bigger each year. It will feature beer, food, drink and entertainment over the three days. The Beer Festival is established in the calendars of beer (and rail) enthusiasts’ alike. www.nnrailway.co.uk/beer-festival

Holt

Year after year this vibrant cultural festival serves up the very best arts and performances from across the region. The town comes alive with a mix of comedy, poetry, dance, music and more with something for everyone to enjoy. Early announcements include punk princess Toyah (26 July) and popular household name Georgie Fame (27 July). Both are appearing in the outdoor Theatre in the Woods venue. Additional musicians taking to the stage include MOBO Award winners Kairos4Tet on 27 July and Britten Oboe Quartet on 25 July. www.holtfestival.org

Sandringham Food & Drink Festival, 3-4 August

National and local producers are brought together to offer the very best in street food and retail accompanied with a craft village bringing you a mix of quality artists, designers and craftsmen demonstrating their skills. www.sandringhamfoodfestival.co.uk

Classic Ibiza, 9 August

Blickling Hall

The Urban Soul Orchestra conducted by Stephen Hussey return to perform classic Ibiza anthems under the stars, with a live DJ and vocalists. As dusk falls, the lasers will hit the Blickling skyline, as the Urban Soul Orchestra return to bring some of the best of the White Island’s dance tunes to orchestral life. www.classicibiza.co.uk

Hunstanton Kite Festival, 18 August

Great Yarmouth Maritime Festival, 7-8 September

Out There Festival, 14-16 September

Crown Road, Great Yarmouth

The Out There Festival of International Street Arts & Circus Entertainment is one action-packed weekend, bursting with circus and street entertainment. It’s got everything from daring acrobatics and daft comedy to dancing, juggling, theatre, circus, storytelling, music and more!
