We’ve selected 14 of the best pumpkin patches in the East of England 

A pumpkin is the must have accessory of the season! Pull on your wellies and have an autumn adventure at one of the best pumpkin patches in Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex and Cambridgeshire. There’s a chance to pick your own pumpkin, enjoy plenty of family-friendly festivities and get ready for Halloween!

Pumpkin patches in Essex

Cammas Hall, 5 October – 4 November

Hatfield Broad Oak, near Bishop’s Stortford


There’s pumpkins galore! You can pick your own from the field or from the ready picked patch. Stock up on sweet treats and carving kits at the farm shop or enjoy a trip around the Halloween themed Maize Maze. There’s also Halloween colouring, crafts and face paiting from 20 October.

Foxes Farm Produce, open throughout October

Basildon, SS15 4ER & Colchester, CO6 3PR

This farm has two locations, Colchester and Basildon, where you can pick your pumpkin straight from the field. Don’t forget to check out the Corn Maze!

Calcott Hall, 23-25 October, 10am-3pm

Head down to the farm this half term and your own juicy pumpkin from the field.

Marsh Farm, 13 & 14 and 20-28 October

The family-friendly farm will be hosting a Halloween Festival where children can pick their own pumpkin and take part in fun activities and events, and visit the new Boo Barn!

Halloween at The Gardens, 14 October, 11.30am-5pm

There’s no pumpkins to be picked straight from the field, the dirty work has been done for you, but there will be a fantastic selection of pumpkins, squashes and produce for sale, plus a ‘guess the weight’ competition, and Halloween inspired activities for younger visitors.

Pick your own pumpkin patches in Suffolk

Undley Pumpkin Patch & Maize Maze, throughout October

Undley Road, Beck Row, IP28 8BX

One of the biggest and most popular pumpkin patches in the region, you’ll need to be quick to snap up the best. Grab a wheelbarrow and pick directly from the field – there’s 20 varieties of pumpkin available! This year sees a new maize maze, circus performances and workshops, a storyteller, bale climbing, donkey rides and inflatables!

Beccles Pumpkin Festival, 28 October, 4pm-8pm

Morrisons Green next to store George Westwood Way, Beccles Suffolk, NR3 49

Not a pumpkin patch but certainly worth a visit. Turn up with your own pumpkin and enter it into the competition, see the extra large carved pumpkins and scarecrows with pumpkin heads. Fancy dress encouraged! Entry is just £1, and accompanying children are free.

The Arc Pumpkin Patch, 22 October, 11am-3pm

The Arc, Charter Square, Bury St Edmunds

Charter Square will be turning into a giant pumpkin patch where families can pick their own pumpkin, enter competitions and enjoy face painting. There will be a £1 donation to My WISH for pumpkins.

Norfolk pumpkin patches

The Pumpkin House, 25-31 October, 10am-4.30pm

Brookhill Farm, Fakenham Road, Thursford, Fakenham NR21 0BD

A brand new exciting pop up shop and pumpkin patch. Get into the Halloween spirit at the Pumpkin House, which will be decorated with over 1,000 pumpkins. There’s a huge selection of pumpkins to choose from, photo opportunities and the ‘haunted hut’ will be selling speciality pumpkins, autumnal wreaths and wooden broomsticks for little witches and wizards.

The farm offers ‘pick your own’ through June to October. This month is all about pumpkins and squashes. Stop by with the family, pick a pumpkin then head to the outdoor playground.
