A recent addition to St Albans food scene is Dylan’s The Plough at Sleapshyde. Not only will you enjoy similar drinks to their city centre venue but proper pub grub and if the sun is shining, sit outside. With a spacious garden and terrace dining, enjoy the very best food surrounded by beautiful fields and even a horse or two!

Rocky Bottoms in West Runton, Norfolk, specialises in crabs and lobsters, which is apt as it looks out to the sea. Created from an old brick kiln, the restaurant was opened by husband and wife team Richard and Alison, who cook up delicious ingredients from the local area.

Set in the Idyllic village of Horning on the River Bure, The New Inn has a spacious riverside garden that includes a covered patio and heated decking area. Enjoy watching the boats go by with a drink and one of their traditional home-cooked meals.

The Crown at Woodbridge

The Crown at Woodbridge in Suffolk has a lovely terrace for dining al fresco, giving visitors the chance to enjoy their award-winning food in a sunny setting. The chefs use locally sourced ingredients that showcase the very best of Suffolk ingredients. They also have a strong relationship with their local suppliers which include Blythburgh free range pork, Woodbridge Tide Mill and Suffolk Salami.

Head over to the family run La Mimosa in Cambridge for an authentic Italian experience that uses fresh and local ingredients wherever possible. Set in an idyllic spot on the River Cam, sit outside and enjoy beautiful views in the sunshine.

Le Talbooth in the heart of the Essex countryside was established back in 1952 and is still going just as strong. Set beside the River Stour, you can sit outside on the terrace, soak in some sun and enjoy the beautifully presented food.

A stone’s throw from Bedford Park, on the outskirts of town, The Park has a lovely walled terrace area to enjoy food or drink in the sunshine. The emphasis here is on the freshest ingredients and seasonal produce including daily fish specials fresh from the market.

The popular riverside pub, The Ramsholt Arms in Woodbridge is set beside the banks of the River Deben and features seasonal fare with plenty of outside seating and a warm welcome for your furry friends.
