30 April – 1 May, Mid and West Suffolk Show

Stoham Barns, Pettaugh Road, Stonham Aspal IP14 6AT

The Mid & West Suffolk Show is a family friendly event featuring spectacular arena demonstrations over two days. This year’s attractions include the main headline Xtreme Stunt Team with their motorcycle and cycle stunt and displays, the Lowestoft Dog Display team, Falconry display, Traction Engines, Classic Cars, Motorcycles and Farm Machinery. 7 May, Companion Dog Show at Waldegraves

Waldegraves Holiday Park, Mersea Island, Colchester, Essex, CO5 8SE

The Show will take place at the Top Showground at Waldegraves Holiday Park from midday, with entries at 11am. Dogs of all shapes and sizes are welcome to take part in the show in aid of Essex Air Ambulance & Spanish Water Dog Rescue. There will be a bargain stall, refreshments and raffle and tombola. 14 May, Belfairs Dog Show

Belfairs Woodland Centre, Eastwood Road North, Leigh-On-Sea, Essex, SS9 4LR

A fun event for dog lovers, the annual dog show sees around 200 dogs strut their stuff in front of a guest judge. There will be a range of classes as well as refreshments, stalls and, of course, the Woodland Centre will be open to look around. Plan your day out at www.essexwt.org.uk

14 May, The Great British Dog Walk

Wimpole Hall, Arrington, Royston, Cambs, SG8 0BW

A fun charity walk for dog lovers and all ages in aid of Hearing Dogs. Starting at 11am, there’s a 3km or 8km walking route to choose from plus fun activities and stalls. 28-29 May, The Country and Pet Show

Hylands Park, Greenbury Way/Writtle Bypass, Writtle, Chelmsford, Essex CM2 8WQ

Enjoy two days of fun dedicated to furry friends. The show will feature a huge variety of animal displays, talks and demonstrations from animal experts and a petting corner where you can up close and personal with slippery snakes, farm yard friends and furry ferrets. Highlights of the show include the Essex K9 Display Team, Gun Dog Training, the Sheep Show, Ferret Racing and Dog Show. A section of the show will be dedicated to dogs and canine products. All dog owners are welcome to bring their dogs to the show providing they are kept on a lead at all times. Canine visitors will be able to take part in a range of activities with their owner including agility courses and scurry. 10-11 June, Cambridge Town & Country Fair Event

Now in its 11th year, this free entry show is a family favourite in the heart of Cambridge. All day entertainment will include brand new Savage Bike Skills Display Team, the ‘FANYS’ Historical Re-enactment Horse Display Team, birds of prey flying displays, terrier racing, children’s entertainer Devistick Peat plus Circus Skills Workshop, the goat show including bottle feeding lambs and kids, children’s petting pens, historical re-enactment and much much more. There will be arts, crafts food drink and gifts marquees. Professor Noel Fitzpatrick, Channel 4’s Supervet, hosts DogFest and offers dogs and their owners the ultimate fun-filled weekend. With even more have-a-go activities for your dog to take part in, this year has an action-packed line-up including agility sessions, dog diving and training, plus grooming sessions for pampered pooches and gifts and treats galore; with highlights including The Great Dog Walk and Noel Fitzpatrick live on stage. Twice a day, Noel will lead the way on The Great Dog Walk, the perfect opportunity to get walking with your dog and explore the beautiful grounds of Knebworth House.
