Colourful beach huts are dotted along much of our pretty coastline and are often the perfect addition to a family day at the beach.

Here are our top five beach hut hires…

beach hut hire
The Little Beach Hut Company

Wells-next-the-Sea, Norfolk

Backed by a pine forest and standing tall in stilts overlooking the sand, Wells is famed for its beach huts. A handful of huts can be hired via Pinewoods, a nearby caravan park or privately online. Daily price £30 at pinewoods.co.uk / private hire at beach-huts.com

Mersea Island, Essex

A firm favourite with seafood fans, Mersea Island’s shore is lined with pastel coloured beach huts. Hire is available from The Little Beach Hut Company which offers six cute huts, each quaintly decorated and the perfect place for a day on the beach with a picnic. Price from £50. www.thelittlebeachhutcompany.co.uk

Lowestoft, Suffolk

The beach at Lowestoft is renowned for its brightly coloured beach huts of which 25 are available for daily or weekly hire via Leisure Services. The huts are situated on the lower promenade between Kensington Gardens and the Claremont Pier. Prices from £85 per week in peak season. www.sentinel.onesuffolk.net

Frinton on Sea

Beach huts have stood on this expanse of Essex coastline for hundreds of years. Once restricted to green, black or brown, the now brightly coloured huts are iconic of the beach. Hire is available online at www.beach-huts.com

Sheringham

Its breathtaking scenery, fine sands and The Poppy Line, makes Sheringham a popular choice to visit. Start your trip with a walk along the promenade lined with colourful beach huts and take in the spectacular seaviews. More details are available at www.northnorfolk.org/community/606.asp
