Forget another boring New Year’s Eve down your local pub, why not gather family and friends together for a fun-filled mini break?

A recent survey by Holidaylettings.co.uk revealed that East Anglia is demand for holiday rentals, great if you’re looking for a quick getaway or toying with the idea of potentially letting a property as a holiday home. Topping the list was Great Yarmouth and Norwich, while Reepham and Swaffham had the largest increase in enquiries in the last year.

To the Broads

Popular hot spots for rentals were also Blakeney, Felixstowe and the beautiful Oulton Broad and we’re not surprised, this area of the Broads is absolutely stunning. If you’re looking to escape the hype of the New Year or just want to unwind after the stress of Christmas, head 20 minutes down stream from Oulton Broad to the Waveney River Centre.

Set on a marina, the park features a choice of accommodation including luxury lodges, a boutique hotel and camping facilities, although that option may be a little chilly for New Year. Both lodges and the hotel are cosy and comfortable and complete with a TV and DVD if you fancy kicking back with a film on New Year’s Day.

The park is ideal for those who are keen walkers or if you have the family dog joining you on your break, you’ll discover miles of unspoilt countryside and endless footpaths. The pretty market town of Beccles is not too far away, and the Waveney waterside pub and restaurant is great for a bite to eat with tasty hearty food and friendly staff.

Prices for a New Year break start from £99 for two on a B&B basis with a free bottle of Prosecco.
