Katharine of Aragon Festival, 25-27 January

The year begins with Peterborough Cathedral and Vivacity Peterborough Tudor theme festival, which marks the date in January 1536 when King Henry VIII’s first wife was buried at Peterborough Abbey, following her death in exile at Kimbolton Castle. She rests at the Cathedral to this day! The festival features a busy line up of interesting talks, tours, services, crafts and period entertainment.

Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night at Peterborough Cathedral, 13-15 February

One of Shakespeare’s best loved comedies, Twelfth Night, is to be staged at Peterborough Cathedral by Gearbox Theatre Company. This talented new theatre company is combining the Cathedral’s stunning Norman architecture, a sixties skiffle band and Shakespeare’s poetic language, to bring this colourful production to life. Peterborough Fake Festival, 25 May

Calling all wannabe rock stars! Enjoy a day of live music with spin-tingling performances performed by the festivals ‘fake bands’. This year’s line-up includes talented artists performing tributes to Pink, Oasis, Kings of Leon, Gun & Roses and more. It’s not to be missed! Peterborough Dragon Boat Race, 8 June

One of the most popular annual events in Peterborough, join the crowds on the river banks and cheer on the crews as they challenge each other in a 200m race.
