Home, I’m Darling

By Laura Wade
EXPECT: an unsettling new comedy about gender roles and one woman’s quest to be the perfect 1950s housewife.
What does happily married actually mean? Every couple needs a little fantasy to keep their marriage sparkling but behind the gingham curtains, it might start to unravel and sometimes, being a domestic Goddess isn’t as easy as it seems…
In order to make ends meet, Judy and Johnny decide to try and live as if it’s still the 1950s.  But this trip down memory lane leads to a laser-like dissection of the gender divide and marriage itself.  It was a smash hit for the National Theatre and was followed by a highly successful West End Run.
